The Role

We are seeking a motivated and passionate Volunteer Head of Policy to join our team. This role is initially a volunteer, temporary position, with the potential to become a permanent team member based on your impact and contributions to the organisation. As the Head of Policy, you will play a critical role in shaping W4WE’s policy direction and advocating for issues that are central to women’s empowerment.

Working entirely online, you will lead our policy strategy, engage with stakeholders, and drive initiatives that support our mission. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference while gaining valuable experience in policy leadership within a forward-thinking charity.

Key Responsibilities

• Policy Development: Lead the creation and implementation of W4WE’s policy strategy, ensuring alignment with our mission to empower women.
• Advocacy and Research: Conduct research and develop evidence-based policy positions that support our advocacy efforts on key issues affecting women.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with partners, governmental bodies, and other organisations to influence policy changes that benefit women and their communities.
• Campaign Support: Work alongside the communications team to create impactful policy campaigns that raise awareness and drive change.
• Monitor Policy Landscape: Keep abreast of legislative and policy developments relevant to W4WE’s work, and provide expert analysis and recommendations.

• Experience in policy development, advocacy, or a related field (professional or volunteer experience welcome).
• Strong understanding of issues affecting women’s rights and empowerment.
• Excellent research, analytical, and communication skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting.
• Passionate about W4WE’s mission and eager to contribute to positive change.
