About W4WE

Women for Women’s Empowerment (W4WE) is a registered charity dedicated to empowering women and addressing hygiene poverty within local communities. Our Hygiene Bank initiative provides essential hygiene products to those in need, promoting dignity and well-being among women and families across Southwark.

The Role

We are seeking a motivated Volunteer Project Coordinator to support the W4WE Hygiene Bank in successfully managing our local projects. This is a unique opportunity for a passionate individual to contribute meaningfully to their community, gain valuable skills, and potentially transition into a permanent role based on performance and impact.

As a Project Coordinator, you will lead a team of volunteers, manage drop-off points, oversee the collection and distribution of hygiene products, and engage with community partners. You will play a critical role in driving our mission forward, raising awareness, and ensuring the smooth running of the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Lead and support project volunteers to ensure effective operation of the Hygiene Bank.
  • Collection and Distribution: Set up and manage local drop-off points, collect donations, and distribute them to community partners.
  • Administration: Log all donations and distributions, communicate with community partners to assess their needs, and maintain accurate records.
  • Fundraising: Organise local fundraising events and apply for local grants to support the project with guidance from the Fundraising Team.
  • Social Media Management: Set up and manage social media pages for the project, create engaging content, and raise awareness about hygiene poverty in the community.
  • Community Engagement: Attend charity Townhall meetings and encourage fellow volunteers to participate; stay informed via the W4WE Hygiene Bank newsletter.

What We’re Looking For

  • Passionate about community service and women’s empowerment.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage with community partners and stakeholders.
  • Proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Social media skills and fundraising experience are advantageous but not essential.

What We Offer

  • The chance to make a significant impact in your local community and help reduce hygiene poverty.
  • An opportunity to develop a wide range of skills in project management, leadership, fundraising, and community engagement.
  • Flexible volunteer hours to suit your schedule.
  • Potential to transition into a permanent role within W4WE based on your contribution and performance.
