The Role

We are seeking a motivated and strategic Volunteer Development Manager to join our team temporarily, with the potential to transition into a permanent role based on your contributions and impact within the organisation. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for people development, volunteer management, and capacity building in a remote working environment.

As the Volunteer Development Manager, you will play a key role in enhancing our volunteer program, supporting volunteer engagement, and developing strategies to attract and retain talent. You will be responsible for nurturing a positive and productive environment for our volunteers, ensuring they have the tools and support needed to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Volunteer Recruitment: Develop and implement strategies to attract new volunteers, matching their skills and interests with organisational needs.
  • Volunteer Engagement and Retention: Create and manage initiatives that motivate and retain volunteers, enhancing their experience and contribution to W4WE.
  • Training and Development: Design and deliver training programs to equip volunteers with the skills and knowledge they need to excel in their roles.
  • Support and Guidance: Provide ongoing support, guidance, and feedback to volunteers, helping them to develop personally and professionally.
  • Policy and Procedure Development: Assist in developing volunteer policies and procedures that align with W4WE’s mission and best practices.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Track volunteer engagement, collect feedback, and report on program effectiveness to continuously improve our volunteer program.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience or strong interest in volunteer management, development, or HR-related roles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and support volunteers.
  • Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Passionate about empowering women and committed to W4WE’s mission.
  • Willingness to contribute as a volunteer with a view to becoming a permanent member of the team based on performance and impact.
